Cost

How much does home air conditioning cost?

From £1,861 for one room with our Essential system, fully installed. Additional rooms on the same visit cost less. Use our estimator for your rooms, and the free survey gives you a fixed price.

How much does it cost to run?

Cooling a typical bedroom costs a few pence an hour. Heating the same room costs roughly 8 to 15 pence an hour on a cold day.

Do I pay a deposit?

Yes. A deposit secures your installation date and the balance is due on the day we finish. Your quote shows both.

Is there VAT?

Installed air-to-air heat pumps in homes are zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027, then 5%.

The system

Does air conditioning heat as well as cool?

Yes. Every system we fit is a heat pump. Heating costs around 5.5p per kWh of heat, against 25.4p for an electric heater.

How noisy is it?

Indoor units run from 19–20 dB(A) on their quietest settings, quieter than a whisper. The outdoor unit is sited away from bedrooms and neighbours.

Can I control it from my phone?

Yes. Every system we fit has Wi-Fi control through the manufacturer's app, built in or with an adaptor included.

Which brands do you install?

We fit equipment from leading manufacturers, chosen for reliability, low noise and efficiency. Your quote names the exact model, and we register the full manufacturer's warranty for you.

Does it need servicing?

Clean the filters every few weeks in heavy use. An annual service keeps it efficient and supports your warranty.

Installation

How long does installation take?

One day for most single rooms; two days for two or three rooms.

How soon can you survey?

Within 5 working days of your request.

Is there much mess?

Very little. One neat hole through the wall with dust extraction, dust sheets throughout, and we hoover before we leave.

Do I need planning permission?

Usually not. Listed buildings, and outdoor units on street-facing walls in conservation areas or the Peak District National Park, can need permission. We check at the survey.

Are you F-Gas certified?

Yes. Peak Air Renewables Ltd holds its own company F-Gas certificate, and our engineers are individually qualified.

Do you only work in homes?

Yes. We're residential specialists.
