Our promise
Professional from the first visit to the last tidy-up
Plenty of firms can hang a unit on a wall. We want you to tell your neighbours how easy it was.
On time
We turn up when we say we will, for the survey and on installation day. If anything changes, you hear from us first.
Clean and tidy
Dust sheets down, drilling dust caught at source, and the room hoovered before we leave. You won't know we've been, apart from the cool.
Done in a day
Most single-room installations take one day: unit up, pipework hidden, system tested and running before we go.
A fair, fixed price
A written quote after the survey, and that's the price. No add-ons on the day, no hard sell.
One system, all year
Cool in summer. Warm in winter.
Modern air conditioning is a heat pump. The same unit that cools your bedroom in July heats it in January, for a fraction of the cost of electric heaters.
Hotter summers are here
The UK passed 40°C for the first time in July 2022, and the Met Office says summers as hot as 2018 could come every other year by the 2050s. Homes built to keep heat in now struggle to let it out, and upstairs bedrooms suffer most.
Surprisingly good at heating
Air conditioning moves heat in from outside, even on a frosty morning, giving you three to five times more heat than the electricity it uses. That makes it one of the cheapest ways to heat a room.

Questions people ask
How much does air conditioning cost for a house?
A single room with our Essential system starts from £1,861 fully installed. Each extra room on the same visit costs less than the first. Our estimator gives you a range for your rooms in a minute, and the survey gives you a fixed price.
Can air conditioning heat my home as well?
Yes. Every system we fit is a heat pump that runs in reverse in winter. It delivers three to five units of heat for every unit of electricity, so heating a room costs around 5.5p per kWh of heat, against 25.4p for a plug-in electric heater.
How long does installation take?
Most single-room installs take one day. Two or three rooms usually take two days. We'll confirm at the survey.
Do I need planning permission?
Most homes don't: installs are usually permitted development. Listed buildings, and outdoor units on street-facing walls in conservation areas or the Peak District National Park, can need permission. We check at the survey.
Is it noisy?
Modern indoor units run from 19 dB(A) on their quietest setting, which is quieter than a whisper. The outdoor unit sits outside and we position it away from bedroom windows and neighbours.
Do you work on homes only?
Yes. Peak Air specialises in residential air conditioning, so our surveys, installs and aftercare are all built around homes.
