What Signature costs to run
With a SCOP of 5.2, every unit of electricity becomes 5.2 units of heat, so a kWh of heat costs about 4.9p, against 8.7p from a gas boiler. In summer, a SEER of 8.8 keeps a bedroom cool for pennies an hour. Here it is in pounds and pence, at today’s electricity price.

Typical room size is a guide for an average living room. Bedrooms need a little less, sunny rooms and conservatories more. We size every room properly at the survey. “An hour flat out” is the most the unit can cost an hour at full power; once a room is up to temperature it runs well below that.
